May 2012 – The National Geographic Channel’s show “Taboo” filmed a documentary about a gentleman with a very old gondola for sale in Las Vegas — perhaps the oldest gondola in the world.  Our very own Gondola Greg, the foremost authority on gondolas in the Americas, was brought in to inspect, value, and date the gondola in question.

Newport Beach, CA February 1, 2013 – Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Gondola Adventures®, Inc. welcomes the Contessa to her Newport Beach, CA fleet.  The Contessa is a pupparin, a member of the sandolo family of Venetian boats.  Pupparini are traditionally used to train young gondoliers in the Venetian style of rowing.  In Venice, they generally only take passengers on special occasions, and these passengers are often modern-day Venetian nobility.  They are also used in racing; typically, young men race them in the annual Regatta Storica in the Grand Canal of Venice.   The Contessa is one of only two pupparini taking passengers in the United States.  While a pupparin is only 4-feet shorter than the traditional 36-foot Venice-built gondola, this boat is well equipped to take romantic cruises with either one or two couples aboard.  With sleek lines…

GONDOLA ADVENTURES® WELCOMES THE MOST HISTORIC OPERATING WEDDING GONDOLA IN THE AMERICAS TO ITS NEWPORT BEACH FLEET Newport Beach, CA, June 21, 2010 – Gondola Adventures®, Inc. is excited to welcome to its fleet the oldest and most historic wedding gondola outside of Venice, Italy. The gondola, “Lucia”, was built in1960 by the renowned gondola building family at Squero Tramontin.  In 1964, she was imported to the United States by Janet Curci as a surprise gift for her father.   Janet Curci is a well-known philanthropist in the Newport Beach-Costa Mesa area.  She has been an active supporter of Hoag Hospital, as well as the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center in Rancho Mirage, which honors her mother.  The gondola, “Lucia”, was named after her mother.   Gondola Adventures® operates the only authentic Venetian gondolas available for cruises in Newport Beach. …

December 2007 –  In December 2007, a dinner cruise with Gondola Adventures® was named #2 of the nation’s Top 5 Floating Feasts, on the Food Network show “Top 5” with Bobby Rivers.

November 2011 – Gondola Greg — and Gondola Adventures®’ beautiful Wedding Gondola —  were brought up to an outdoor soundstage with a huge green screen and large filming lagoon in Burbank, CA to film a Venice scene for Adam Sandler’s feature film, “Jack and Jill.”  With a background in film, Greg had worked with green screens…
